Another highlight in my calendar is Corbridge Festival and when the weather is as good as it was on Saturday it makes for an even better day. 24 acts across the 2 main stages and countless more in a 3rd smaller tent makes the event a musical spectacular from kick off on Friday night through to late on Saturday evening. I hope the photographs do the event justice.

Monday night gig at The Cluny in Newcastle, unless it was something special then most would give this gig a miss after a weekend of drinking but when it’s Russ Tippins making a rare band appearance then you just know the place will be full and a guaranteed memorable night would be had by all. First up The Tom Atkinson band followed by the main event. Guest vocals by the fab Jen Normandale finished the evening off in style.

I was invited to see Uli Jon Roth last night at South Shields Unionist Club and jumped to the chance. As a massive Scorpions fan and with the prospect of hearing a load of Tokyo Tapes tracks played by the master guitarist Uli, I knew it was going to be a great night. The club was packed with fans and after a great set by local band The Force, we were treated to a show to remember.

As a huge KISS fan I had this gig in the diary long ago. Trillians was the venue and knowing it can get busy I decided to get there pre 8pm, just as well as by 9pm the place was as full as i’ve ever seen it. The band performed for close to 2 hours and were brilliant both visually in their KISS costumes and also with their KISS style mannerisms. Add a great sound to the equation and it meant we had a night to remember. They promised to come back next year, lets hope they do.

4 bands, 3 burlesque dancers and plenty of sparks flying, all in aid of a brain cancer charity. Bands are Reet Hot Chilli Peppers, Twister, Van Hailen and Bigfoot. Thanks to Trillians in Newcastle for hosting the event.

The Queen Vic in South Shields was a gig I knew was going to be a pleasure to shoot and the evening didn’t dissapoint. The pub was packed with witches, demons and all manner of people in fancy dress out to celebrate Halloween and with the band dressed up too the atmosphere was perfect.

A band I had been looking forward to seeing were in the area the day before my holidays but despite an early start next morning I decided I had to see them. So pleased I did, this band not only can play but they are true posers in front of the camera and I loved them ! They are back in December, go see them if you like UFO, Schenker or just live music.

Stormin’ is the highlight of the local music calendar and the highlight of mine too !
Live music in a fantastic atmosphere, always loads of friends around, camping, Jack Daniels and beer, who could ask for more. This year it rained on the Saturday, so what, nobody cared, we still partied hard and loved every minute. Enjoy the photos !
Oh if any band wants copies of their own pics, just ask and i’ll send them to you.

This is the 2nd year i’ve been to Corbridge Festival to shoot the bands and once again it was a fantastic weekend. The weather just about held out and the occasional light shower didn’t dampen spirits at all. Lots of great bands means lots of photos to look at. You may even be in a crowd shot. Take a look.
