Live Music

Bon Jovi Forever – Morpeth Riverside

It’s not often BJF play north of the Tyne so a show in Morpeth was always going to be a “must go to” gig. With support from Geoff Mull this show was sure to be popular. The Riverside is a new venue for me and from what I can gather fairly new to the music scene, certainly for rock music but fear not the venue and crowd were well prepared for an evening of live music.

From Order Comes Chaos

A Bubbles Bar favourite and this certainly showed with the amount of fans crammed into Bubbles on Thursday, all there to see the Ashington lads play.  I’ve seen the band before but this WAS the best gig i’ve seen them play, lots of energy and some self penned tracks that would be at home on many a “big band” album. Well done lads.

Northern Frog Alliance

So i’m packing my case to go on holiday and I get a Facebook notification saying Kev Charlton is playing with the Northern Frog Alliance in a few hours time, despite a hurried suitcase pack I wasn’t going to miss this one.  The Ranch in South Shields was the venue and what a place it is, almost perfect for live music (apart from the lights of course, they are never right !), good beer and a BBQ in the garden. Several hours later we left the venue having been very well entertained, a great start to my holidays 🙂

Willowman 2015

A festival I hadn’t heard of at all but was invited to go along and take photographs on the Saturday. With a few band friends playing I couldn’t say no.  Arrived in the pouring rain but as soon as the music started the sun came out and the fun began. Make no mistakes, this is a small but perfectly formed festival, very well organised and laid out and a crowd who know how to party. Looking forward to Willowman 2016.

Corbridge Festival 2015

Another catch up addition to my website but a worthy addition I think. A full day of musical entertainment across two stages. A very well organised festival with some brilliant acts. The highlights for me where The Undertones, a band I had obviously heard of but knew little about, simply commanded the stage and played a blinder.  Lots of photos in this album but when you’re a photographer at a festival you want to capture everything.

Groovetrain at the Sage Gateshead

It’s a year ago today that this event took place, a day to remember. This was a charity event that managed to raise £6000 for a children’s charity so a worthwhile event for sure.

Bon Jovi Forever and Bryan Adams Exposed – Lancastrian Suite

When you put together some of the most talented musicians in the North East into two bands to pay homage to two of the world’s biggest acts then you are guaranteed a night a remember.  The Lancastrian Suite was the venue, stage was expertly set out with god knows how many lights, add a top sound system and some pyros and let the show commence. Look out for these bands, book your tickets and go and support live music. You won’t be disappointed.

Bikers, Bikes and Backstage – Stormin’ the Castle

Stormin the Castle wouldn’t exist without the wonderful bikers that have been coming for the last 25 years. Here are the photos of some of the bikes arriving, the winners presentation and just some general photos taken over the weekend. Great memories of a great weekend.
